- Abstract
The resident in a tourist destiny possesses a great relevancy for the management of the tourist companies, because they adopt a triple role. They live in the tourist destiny, they are tourists in the own destiny and they work in the tourist local companies. On the other hand, the investigators and the professionals of the tourism also emphasize the need to realize studies in the tourist destinies formed by islands, since it is the case of the Canary Isles, specially in relation to the segments of population that will take the generational relief. In this context the aim of the present work is to determine the influence that certain variables have in the formation of the satisfaction and the loyalty of the resident young man. For it there has been in use a sample of 678 who are 18 and 19 years old and who are young residents in Gran Canaria (60 %) and in Tenerife (40 %), while tourists in the own destiny. The perceptions to study as the independent variables are relative to the tourist company (orientation to the market, reputation, social responsibility), to the product (image, perceived quality, perceived value), as well as they predict the formation of the dependent variables: satisfaction and loyalty. The results show that is possible to generate a model to predict the satisfaction and the loyalty of the young resident people with the used variables, and also that the companies have an important role. Significant differences do not exist for reasons of sex, of island of residence or for quantity of trips realized in Canary Island. Also we conclude that, on having treated itself about a study of generational nature, the results can be taken to the case of the young resident tourists in other Spanish destinies.
