The article presents a contextual analysis of the poem `Paradise Lost,' by John Milton, with particular focus given to the theme of the origins of human experience, including the origin of human psychological development. Discussions on the narcissism displayed by the characters of the poem is offered, and interpretations using psychoanalysis are presented.
