- Abstract
The search for newer Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAID's) and the importance of oxadiazoles as anti-inflammatory agent has inspired to synthesize some novel 1,3,4-oxadiazole analogues hitherto unreported for their anti-inflammatory activities. The structures of the compounds were confirmed by IR, 13C-NMR and mass spectral data. The anti-inflammatory potential of the compounds were investigated using cotton pellet-induced granuloma method. Compound 14 was found to possess significant antiinflammatory activity. Compound 13, 17, 22, and 23 also demonstrated marked anti-inflammatory activities. Structure-activity relationships among synthesized compounds were established.
