Abstract
The article discusses Russian intelligentsia, the theme of the book, and investigates the distinctive intellectual and biographical opposition of Russian writers Fyodor Dostoevsky and Leo Tolstoy about the Russian intelligentsia's history, character, and fate. It mentions that the religious thinkers in the 20th century followed the paths of Dostoevsky and Tolstoy to construct a philosophy of life to counteract the philosophies of wars and revolutions.
