- Abstract
The article focuses on the context of Niccolò Machiavelli's political treatise in the play "Measure for Measure," by William Shakespeare. Topics discussed include a description of the fate of Messer Ramiro d'Orco, the monarch's prerogative to issue golden coins, and the political and social consequences of the plan to reform family life. Also described are the types of human character in "Rhetoric" as discussed by Aristotle.
