- Abstract
Th is paper explores advantages and challenges of an emerging information (knowledge-based) society. Information and communication technology (ICT) is seen as the infrastructure of modern society and its infl uence on conceptualization of culture has been examined. Th e two most important impacts of information revolution are economic and technological globalization and cultural decentralization. There has been a significant change in human occupational, social and educational development. Th e paper argues that ICT is not just another example of new technology, but also a tool to transform society for the better.
