- Title
Video-gaming disorder and the DSM-5: Some further thoughts.
- Authors
King, Daniel L; Delfabbro, Paul H
- Abstract
The authors reflect on a need to develop clinical criteria and disorder classifications for video-gaming disorder. According to the authors, the diagnostic criteria for pathological gambling and substance dependence can be adapted to define the disorder. They point out that the current Internet Use Disorder classification does not represent the unique cognitions and behaviours relevant to problem video-gaming. Information on the proposed criteria for video-gaming disorder is also provided.
