An interview with Emma LaRocque, a Cree-speaking Métis poet, intellectual, feminist and educator, is presented. Topics covered include outlook on living in the shadows of colonialism as a Cree-speaking Métis woman living on lands claimed by Canada, why did she choose to attend a university and stay as a professor in line with the pain of forced separation and change and the central role of indigenous peoples to lands now claimed by Canada.
