- Abstract
In this essay the author discusses ethnicity and sexuality in his poetry. He states that he's been writing to warn himself against colonization of identity and relationships, especially in regard to him becoming the colonizer. The essay discusses Indian stereotypes, the constructed identity of the Twin Spirit, and the inspiration for the author's book "Tokinish."
