- Abstract
A biography of American Sulpician scripture scholar Raymond E. Brown is presented. He was born on May 22, 1928 in the Bronx, New York City. He received his Bachelor and Master degrees of Arts in philosophy at the Catholic University of America with additional studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome and St. Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore, Maryland. He taught biblical studies at Union Theological Seminary from 1974 until his retirement in 1990. He died at the Sulpician St. Patrick’s Seminary and University in Menlo Park, California on August 8, 1998.
