- Abstract
The article discusses research on the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporotic women with teriparatide and its effects on iliacal bone mineralization density distribution (BMDD). The study measured the BMDD of 16 osteoporotic women who had treaments of risedronate (priorRIS) or alendronate (priorALN) through the quantitative backscattered electron imaging. Results showed that the BMDD values of women who had priorRIS and priorALN at baseline were similar in the normal range and that treatment with teriparatide for one year can significantly affect BMDD.
