- Abstract
An essay is presented on wrongful convictions in Canada. It examines two cases of wrongful convictions and judicial error including the case of Donald Marshall involving wrongful imprisonment for eleven years and the case of Tammy Marquardt involving wrongful imprisonment for eleven years and reflects on the strengths and weaknesses of the Canadian legal mechanisms for overturning wrongful convictions. It analyzes the role played by police, prosecutors, and juries in wrongful convictions.
