- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the depictions of Anabaptism in historical novels during the Kulturkampf era, which refers to the conflict between the German chancellor Otto von Bismarck and the Roman Catholic Church regarding state control in the mid-19th to the early 20th centuries. Particular focus is given on the novels by Adolf Hausrath and Wilhelm Stähle.
