- Abstract
The article discusses the clinical characteristics of psoriasis and its treatment. It cites that psoriasis is a skin inflammatory disorder which is characterized by hyperproliferation of epidermal keratinocytes and inflammation of the epidermis and dermis. It notes that five biologics are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the U.S. for the treatment of psoriasis such as alefacept, afalizumab, etanercept, adalimumab, and infliximab.
