- Abstract
The article discusses the repatriation of ancestral human remains to the indigenous Aboriginal Australians by the Museums Victoria (MV) in Victoria, Australia from the 1980s through the mid 2010s. An overview of Aboriginal Australians' reburying of their ancestors' remains, including their first reburial of ancestral remains formerly held by MV in 1985 in Melbourne, Victoria, is provided. An overview of the cultural ownership associated with the ancestral remains of Aboriginal Australians is also provided.
