- Abstract
A literary criticism of the autobiographical book "A Fortunate Life," by Albert Barnet (A.B.) Facey, or Bert Facey, is presented. It discusses his writings on the experience of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) Landing as part of the Gallipoli Campaign in Turkey in World War I. The author examines whether the account is fact or fiction, commenting on Facey's service record and accounts written by other soldiers. It notes Facey's service in Western Australia's 11th Battalion.
