The article discusses the free exercise of religion, the American Constitution's First Amendment, and religious liberty in relation to former U.S. Supreme Court (Court) Justice Anthony Kennedy's views, and it mentions the same-sex wedding cake case Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission. According to the article, the Court's attitude towards the free exercise has changed over the years. A concurring opinion from Judge Neil Gorsuch is assessed.
