- Title
Nanowires: Keeping track of dopants.
- Authors
Radovanovic, Pavle V.
- Abstract
The article discusses a study by Lincoln Lauhon and colleagues which showed two distinct pathways for dopant incorporation using pulsed-laser atom probe tomography. Semiconductor nanowires are said to be widely studied among nanostructured materials because of their electrical and optical properties which can be tuned by changing their diameter and because of the possibility to use them as components in functional devices. The study indicates that there are many unknowns when it comes to rationally doping nanowires and other nanostructures.
