- Authors
Gagain, Michael
- Abstract
The article focuses on the problem and impact of climatic changes and sea level rise due to global warming. It explains the construction of artificial islands by the island states to retain their livelihood and maritime claims. It informs of completion of an artificial island Hulhumalé by Maldives. The law of the sea (LOSC) states that such islands are excluded from maritime claims so Maldives advocated a potential amendment to the "Constitution of the oceans."
