- Abstract
The article focuses on the approach of Abraham J. Heschel on Jewish theologies and mysticism. He discusses various achievements and situations that separate Heschel from other scholars including his writings in several languages and his vicissitudes. It notes his various explanations on the unique status of man and his use of the word exaltation to describe man. It presents his Hasidic insistence on immediacy and his attitude toward symbolism, and argues on the logic of his book "Zohar." It reveals the dominant interpretation and conceptualizations of Jewish mysticism as well as the several different forms of mediation.
