- Authors
Sanders, Mary E.; Bikić, Nebojša
- Abstract
The article identifies common mistakes in swimming, particularly in the backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. It discusses how to achieve a smoother glide and a more efficient stroke. With backstroke, common mistakes are said to include improper position of the head and legs. Older swimmers doing the breaststroke are said to have the tendency to look forward instead of down during the arm recovery and glide. Some drills to correct these swimming mistakes are provided.
