- Title
These heat exchangers feature tantalum as an alternative to graphite.
- Abstract
The article reports on the planned introduction of Heatex, a heat exchanger by Carbone Lorraine in Paris, France. According to the author, the company's heat exchanger is comprised of plates that are made of tantalum CL-Clad which is a brazing process. The author adds that Heatex is 30-50% lesser in terms of cost compared to shell-and-tube (S&T) exchangers that are made of tantalum. Furthermore, the author adds that Heatex has similarities with the conventional plate heat exchanges in terms of its thermal efficiency. Other information related to Heatex are also mentioned.
