- Abstract
The article focuses on community vernacular video. Amateur video is often referred to as "home video" which is parallel to "home movies." Community vernacular video describes electronic moving pictures that are made by untrained people without using professional equipment in documenting activities of various communities outside the family. Vernacular video is the term used as a more precise category in describing nonfiction videos made by untrained camera operators attempting to realistically reflect the life around them. Moreover, it can be classified as a broad genre of moving pictures identified by the status of the creator, equipment used, and recording's content.
