- Abstract
The article focuses on the Firehawk fire detection system used at the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection base in Camino, California. The Firehawk system includes a camera, mounted on top of a 160-foot communications tower, which rotates 360 degrees every three minutes to detect changes related to an image of a fire or smoke from a fire. It also includes a video monitor situated at the headquarters, a software that detects potential fires, two computer screens and a joystick.
