- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the genome-scale analysis of the metabolism of Mannheimia succiniciproducens. Mannehimia succiniciproducens MBEL55E is a capnophilic gram-negative bacterium from the bovine rumen which produces succinic acid. Succinic acid is comprised of a four-carbon dicarboxylic acid used as a chemical for food, pharmaceutical and agricultural industries. The study used silico modelling and genome-scale metabolic network simulation to design the metabolic engineering experiments.
