- Abstract
This letter published in the journal Pediatric Radiology discusses the occurrence of bilateral skull fractures in infants as a result of single impact trauma. The authors highlight the importance of understanding the mechanisms and patterns of these fractures, particularly in cases of suspected child abuse. The letter presents seven reported cases of bilateral fractures resulting from accidental falls, with varying heights and impact surfaces. The authors propose further research to investigate the relationship between a solitary impact and bilateral skull fractures, as well as the influence of the point of impact on the fracture pattern.
