- Abstract
A literary criticism of two 17th century English elegaic poems, one anonymous and one by William Davenant, is presented. The author mentions that the poem by Davenant refers to Baron George Goring and that the anonymous work was originally believed to have also been about this George Goring but has since been determined to be about Goring, George, Earl of Norwich who died in 1663.
