The article briefly explores economic references within the writings of the early 20th-century English author T. S. Eliot and the author's financial career. Details are give noting how Eliot worked at Lloyds Bank in London, England, how references to foreign exchange and the negative aspects of the career appeared within his poetic work "The Waste Land," and further examples of economic themes seen within the play "The Importance of Being Earnest," by Oscar Wilde.
