- Abstract
The article focuses on intravenous pyelography (IVP) diagnosis of medullary sponge kidney (MSK) which when imaged radiologically has an appearance like a bouquet of flowers. It states that MSK is characterized by cystic dilation of the terminal collecting ducts in the kidneys which causes the medulla to have a sponge-like appearance. It comments on the diagnostic accuracy of multidetector computed tomography urography and discusses differential diagnosis for MSK imaging appearance.
