- Title
Observing Saturn for 30 years -- light, shadows and seasons.
- Authors
Cunow, Barbara; Centre, Pretoria
- Abstract
The article discusses Saturn observations from 1980 to 2010, using only modest equipment such as the 15-centimeter Newtonian reflector telescope. It says when Saturn is observed with a small telescope, the main features visible are the planet and the rings, though some of the cloud bands covering the planet can also be seen. Its discussions include Saturn's ring system, its seasons, how the sun illuminates the planet, and how we see it. A table shows the different views of Saturn from Earth.
