The article presents a commentary on the roles of epidermal H2O2 in the pathogenesis of vitiligo. Some of the conditions affected by H2O2 include the epidermal and anti-oxidant defense machinery, the catecholamine, serotonin and nitric oxide synthesis, POMC-peptide levels, and the structure of epidermal albumin. An overview of the proof highlighting the association of H2O2 with vitiligo is provided.
