- Abstract
The article discusses the influence of the U.S. Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade on the feminist movement to legalize abortion in Taiwan. According to the author, Taiwan's New Feminism (NF) movement used the decision to frame a rights-based justification for abortion in addition to the government's justification, which was based on population control and family planning. Topics discussed include privacy, choice, patriarchy, and female-selective abortion (FSA).
