- Abstract
The article discusses the case of a 15-year-old boy who was diagnosed with Zika virus (ZIKV) infection in Cebu City, Philippines. Fever, headache, conjunctivities are cited as some of his symptoms. Also discussed are ZIKV RNA detection, genomic sequencing of the ZIKV gene, and phylogenetic analysis. Particular focus is given to ZIKV epidemics in Micronesia and French Polynesia.
