- Authors
Shahzad, Qaiser
- Abstract
The article discusses the views of Sufi Muslim philosopher Abū 'Abdillāh Muḥammad ibn 'Alī ibn Muḥammad ibn 'Arabī regarding the Christian doctrine that God is a trinity. Topics include the relevance of Ibn 'Arabī's thought for Christian dialogue with Muslims, the philosophical significance of numbers in his thought on the one and the many, and metaphysical views held by Ibn 'Arabī. It is said that his hermeneutical perspective allowed for the notion of multiplicity in the Islamic conception of God.
