- Title
Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura-haemolytic uremic syndrome in relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis patients on high-dose interferon beta.
- Authors
Arrambide, Georgina
- Abstract
The author discusses discuses the study by Catherine Larochelle and colleagues on the development of thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura-haemolytic uremic syndrome (TTP-HUS) in three female multiple sclerosis (MS) patients, who were treated with subcutaneous interferon (IFN) beta 1a for more than a year. She says that the authors suggest that the low body mass index of the patient might have led to dose-related toxicity pathogenesis that caused the TTP-HUS in the patients.
