- Abstract
The article discusses the book of Jeremiah as it pertains to the formation of Palestinian identity. The importance of the book to Palestine's national narrative and collective memory is examined, ambiguity of location and identity in the text is described, and the pertinence of the book to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is emphasized. The role of Israeli Zionists in the removal of land from Palestine is discussed and the asymmetry of the conflict is examined. The relationship between religious and nationalist conflict is analyzed.
