- Abstract
The author discusses the association between migraine and infantile colic. She says that a case-control study of 208 children with migraine and 471 age-matched controls has shown relation demonstrating an association between migraine with or without aura, and infantile colic in pediatric patients. She mentions that the specificity of this finding is supported by the absence of any association between tension headaches and infantile colic in a separate group of 120 children. She also says that the pathogenesis of migraine disorders is not known and substantial evidence suggests that episodes are initiated by neuronal excitation after cortical depression.
