- Abstract
The article reports on a report which was issued by the U.S. Institute of Medicine on February 24, 2009. The report, which was entitled "America's Uninsured Crisis: Consequences for Health and Health Care," was designed to inform government leaders involved in a health reform policy debate with current evidence of how a lack of medical insurance harms the health of individuals, their communities and the economy of the U.S. The report follow six previous reports on the lack of medical insurance in the U.S. that were written by the institute between 2000 and 2004.
