- Abstract
The author discusses the application of transportation theory to the potential effects of movies in encouraging tobacco smoking. It is discussed that movies have powerful effects which leads young viewers away from desired norms or rational behavior. He also mentions that a series of linked studies of 'motion pictures and youth' was carried out in 1929-32 due to worries. A lasting effects of film with respect to tobacco, alcohol and drugs is a fruitful revival of the phenomena.
