- Authors
Cook, James W.
- Abstract
An essay is presented on the concept of cultural turn in the methodology of the study of history as of June 2012. The author traces the history of the phrase and dates its emergence to the 1980s and the 1990s and presents examples of its use in essays that appeared in several scholarly periodicals gleaned from research in the online archiving system known as JSTOR. The author attempts to show the etymological process by which the cultural turn entered historical discourse.
