OF REPUBLICRATS AND DEMPUBLICANS: CAN AFRICAN AMERICAN VOTING PATTERNS AT THE LOCAL LEVEL TRANSLATE INTO BROADER SUPPORT FOR NATIONAL REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES?
- Authors
Ferguson III, Cleveland
- Abstract
The article discusses the influence of the African American voting patterns in the local level and its potential impact on Republican candidates in the national level. It suggests that Republicans should develop policies that will help African Americans as they are the ones who can translate the results at the local level. The article further suggests that the policies should address the nation's problems and provide opportunities for African Americans especially if members of the Democratic party are to cross party lines.
