- Abstract
The article focuses on steps taken by the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) to improve corporate accountability, identity and reputation to secure public trust. In 2000, the SIGA management team and board of directors unveiled a new corporate governance model to bolster its reputation as an accountable corporation, after the Dutch Lerat Affair. The integrity of the financial reporting process can be effectively enhanced by strong corporate governance, allowing managers to secure consumer trust.
