- Abstract
The aim of the research (in 2011) was to determine the state of health and the risks of trees growing in the city of Oświęcim. The analysis comprised five areas differing in habitat conditions. The health state of trees determined on the health scale drawn up by J. Duda. The study involved a total of 424 trees belonging to 22 species. The most numerous species were: small-leaved lime Tilia cordata - 16.7% of the analyzed group of trees and a broad-leaved lime Tilia platyphyllos (15.8%). The smallest share was English oak Quercus robur (0.2%). The most - 76.2% of trees was characterized by a good, 22.4% by a bad and 1.4% by a very bad state of health. The most frequent, limiting factor for the development of all studied trees were mechanical damages, while the most frequent pest on limes was lime leafminer Phyllonorycter issikii (Lepidoptera, Gracillariidae).
