- Authors
Giles, Paul
- Abstract
The article provides information about the Antipodean American literature with the sphere of subalternity. It explores the associations between the American literature and postcolonialism. Their interconnections faced controversy due to antitheoretical outlook of many cultural historians and the uneasy awareness of internal racial colonization of Native Americans and African Americans. This literature within a postcolonial matrix suggest how various vectors of authority and authorization crossed each other in complex patterns over time and space. Postcolonial method can be seen to operate as a form of intertextuality and force scholars to reconceive national narratives in global framework.
