- Abstract
The article discusses research on collapsing glomerulopathy as an initial manifestation of systemic lupus erythematosus. It references a study by Ravi K. Mallavarapu and colleagues, published in the July 4, 2008 issue of "NDT Plus." The researchers observed a female suffering from essential hypertension for several weeks. She was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). They found that collapsing glomerulopathy is characterized by the collapse of glomerular capillaries with obliteration of capillary lumens.
