- Abstract
The article focuses on the role played by Catholic Sisters in parochial and mission schools in Germantown, Pennsylvania. Topics discussed include the benefit of the partnerships between the Daughters of Charity and Vincentian Fathers to Germantown residents, the origins of the Sisters of Saint Joseph (SSJ) and the development by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd of a re-education program for African-American women.
