This article discusses court cases evaluated by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) concerning the death penalty in the U.S. Topics include the imposition of the capital punishment on minors in the case of James Roach and Jay Pinkerton in 1998, the use of capital punishment in cases containing racial minorities such as the case of African American Willie Celestine, and the execution of foreign nationals in the case of Mexican Ramon Martinez Villareal.
