- Title
Dog bite management strategies should be evidence-based, not politically driven.
- Abstract
The article offers the insights of psychology student Rachel Orritt on the need for medical, academics, and veterinary professionals to collaborate to develop evidence-based management strategies to reduce the incidence of dog bites. Orritt states that inaccurate dog bites reporting has contributed to the implementation of the Dangerous Dogs Act of 1991. She also cites the importance of research in producing reliable estimates of dog bite incidence.
