- Abstract
The article presents a study which reveals that catalytic activities of glutamine synthase (GS) enzyme can be used as a biomarker for diagnosis of stroke and can be optimized for development of a rapid diagnostic test. Topics discussed include use of L-methionine sulfoximine to stop the reaction, plotting of standard curves by using optical density (OD) of ferric hydroxamate complex, and inhibition of GS expression due to vitamin D.
