- Abstract
The article analyzes the cultural and social conditions of the Elizabethan Age reflected in the plays of William Shakespeare. Topics discussed are Shakespeare's power of observation of all phenomena of life, women characters as the root and heart of the matter in his comedies, love and marriage as a theme in his plays such as in "A Midsummer Night's Dream," social flaws revealed through the characters, and impact of Shakespeare on world culture.
